ZepFrog / ZepInvest is a small media startup in NYC looking to change the future of online content. We are funded, we have a working product and customers, and are ready to grow. To do this we need fun, hard working people who can take the company to the next level and set the future of online media.

This role has multiple responsibilities. This person will lead the engineering team; it's a hands on role of architecture and developing as well as managing, setting the technical vision and strategy, hire/fire responsibility, budgeting, etc. This person will also be the CEO's partner in running the company at a strategic and operational level and help define the culture of who we want to be.

Role:

* Lead the engineering department
* Set the architecture of the product
* Mentor more junior developers
* Responsible for establishing operating procedures, work assignments, planning, and all project management activities
* Oversee outsourcing (if you determine that we should)
* Hiring additional staff and/or contract out work as necessary
* Develop and drive the product roadmap

* Work with the CEO to set the direction of the company
* Report progress to the board
* Participate in all aspects of running the business
* Foster a culture of fun and opportunity

Experience:

* 6+ years software experience
* 2+ years ruby experience
* You have architected web based products
* You have run software engineering teams and have appropriate project management experience
* You have delivered large scale software projects
* You have worked in a startup environment
* You don't wait to be told what to you, rather you propose to others what you should be doing to achieve the company goals
* You enjoy the chaos and uncertainty in startups
* Your co-workers like you

* You have taken a leadership role in companies
* You have experience running startups

Senior people will be considered for a CTO / co-founder level role. We are willing to consider a strong tech lead/architect for a VP role, even without significant management/leadership experience if we see the potential in you. Compensation includes both salary and a significant equity component.
