Yorba is an open source software group based in San Francisco. We were founded in January 2009 and currently have 5 engineers. Our mission is to develop usable open source applications which make it as easy to work with photos, audio and video on Linux as it is on Mac OS and Windows. In the past year we've released four successive versions of Shotwell (our photo organizer) and have started to get a good amount of attention from Linux distributions and the Linux/GNOME community in general.
We're now looking for one more software engineer to join our team. You'll be working on Fillmore (our multitrack audio recorder) and/or Lombard (our video editor). These applications are still in an early development phase, and we plan to release Fillmore 0.1 and Lombard 0.1 later this spring. The goal of these applications is to make it easy for anyone with a microphone and/or a video camera to create music or movies on Linux, just like they could on a Mac using applications such as GarageBand, iMovie, Logic or Final Cut.
We're a non-profit group funded by donations and we can't pay you as much as that boring bank job, but we offer the following:

Here's what we're looking for from you:
- You have a computer science degree or equivalent expertise gained through work experience.
- You can write C code in your sleep. You are also very proficient in at least one object-oriented language such as Java or C#.
- You can jump into a project with many thousands of lines of code and be productive within days.
- You like usable graphical interfaces. You probably prefer gedit to editors such as emacs or vi.
- You like to think about design decisions - both about user interface decisions and coding/architectural decisions - and have opinions about them.
- You are a team player and have a strong work ethic. You get along with others easily.
- You have permission to work in the U.S. and can work with us at least four days per week in our office in San Francisco.
- You are excited about open source software and about changing the world.
