Target Market: Manufacturing SAAS Applications

Per Mark Suster at the 2011 Los Angeles Startup Conference, the three types of startups that he is most pitched about involve bars, restaurants, and music. These three are also some of the *least* likely to become profitable over time. This is *not* one of those startups.

The goal: I want to create applications that save money for small business manufacturing through improved communication between the shop floor and the front office.

For this business concept: it is highly disruptive to the existing technologies and services in use, there is a decent likelihood of success, a huge potential upside, and (thanks to services like Cloud Computing, Twilio, CallFire, and Voxer), there isn’t an insurmountable level of effort involved. I have a product concept, market research, business plan, URL, some great advisors, and 7 solid years of Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management experience. I am experimenting with Mobile App creation via iOS, but have run across a bit of a stumbling block. Frankly, programming is tough. I need help. I need you.

So, as a first time Startup Founder, I am seeking a Technical Cofounder to team up with me. I am seeking a fun, adventurous, ambitious, ethical, and driven partner for this Startup. I plan to attend the March session of the StartEngine Incubator, and I hope that my CoFounder is available to join me on this adventure. Let’s meet up for a coffee/drink and a chat.

Your responsibilities:
• Most Front End, Back End, and Mobile Development – I will learn whatever skills are needed to assist wherever required.

Requirements:
• Experience building web applications (HTTP, HTML, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, etc)
• Experience with at least one interpreted language (Ruby, Python, Perl, etc)
• Experience with at least one compiled language (Java, C/C++, Objective C, etc)
• Experience with APIs
• Experience working with relational databases (MySQL)
• Excellent communications and organizational skills

Desire-ments:
CS Degree
Experience with Android and iOS mobile clients
