We are looking for a seasoned (lead level) Linux web infrastructure administrator to join our team. The position is part-time / contract based and with the opportunity to become full-time if there is synergy. Our office is based out of Sunnyvale, CA. Moonlighters okay.

You will need skills in implementing and maintaining services that handle a million requests per day in the very near future.
Key areas of responsibility:
Improve performance, availability and scalability of the service
Install/configure servers and network
Monitor service stability, security, and performance
Troubleshoot issues with software, and network
Participate in on-call support (after hours is a shared responsibility)

Expertise with Linux or other Unix derivatives
Experience with designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining large scale mission-critical systems
Awesome shell scripting capabilities
Familiarity with various open source monitoring tools such as Nagios, OPSVIEW.

Pluses
Experience with MySQL, Memcache, Apache, and Tomcat
Experience with load balancers, switches, and routers
