Overview:
Personal finance web startup seeking a Technical Co-Founder to lead development efforts, help grow the company, and take the company’s offerings to the next level.

I am looking to quickly develop additional offerings and grow the company organically using a solid business model. I need someone with a similar focus and long term perspective toward value creation whose technical skills complement my own.

Most of the work would be done remotely, with regular meetings scheduled to discuss requirements, progress, obstacles, product development, and strategy.

If you currently have a full time job or go to school full time, but are willing to put in the required effort after hours, that would be perfectly acceptable.

I would prefer to hire someone that lives in, or around, Chicago, IL. However, talented applicants from other locations within the United States will also receive consideration. Please do not apply if you do not reside in the United States.

Responsibilities:
Develop site enhancements and offerings
Manage the complete product development cycle – from functional requirements to system design to development and delivery
Identify improvements/enhancements and recommend better ways of designing offerings to better cater to user needs
Track competing technologies and solutions
Track and recommend complementary technologies and solutions

Experience:
Experience with software design and development
Experience building and maintaining websites with the following components:
Scalable databases
E-commerce solutions
Content management systems
Social networking

Skills:
Site development skills
Hands-on technical knowledge of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and XML
Design skills preferred
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills

Education:
Degree in computer science or software engineering/development. Advanced degree, or progress toward an advanced degree, preferred.

Compensation:
Compensation would be in the form of founder’s equity at first – looking for someone that would have a stake in the business and want to increase the value of their share.

When the company becomes profitable, other compensation options, such as salary/profit-sharing can be examined.
