Position Overview:
Are you motivated by extremely challenging problems and do you deliver elegant solutions? Do you think in JavaScript, speak, and daydream about Web 2.0 and are an expert on XHTML, XML, DOM?
We’re looking for an experienced hands-on Lead of User Interface Development capable of making an immediate and significant impact to our market leading suite of financial services applications. We are looking for someone who will bring innovation, push the envelope of our technology, and thrive on a sense of ownership for our web presence. Our client has more than 10 million registered users and hundreds of thousands of logins per day across our customers that include the largest financial institutions and portals in the USA and the world.
As the Lead you will be a key leader of the UI Engineering projects mentoring our team on new technologies and best practices, analyzing requirements, designing, and implementing new features and functionality as well as maintaining and improving existing areas of our products and sites.
Our client’s next generation UI is built on Struts 2, and leverages the latest and greatest Yahoo UI components to deliver a real-time interactive experience for consumers. At the same time the software needs to support multiple languages (currently English, Spanish, Chinese and French), multiple currencies and user idioms (locales), ADA compliance, skinning and CSS based customization (our clients don’t want to look the same!), and obviously massive scalability (so the code has to be fast, and lean).
Required Skills:
• Experience designing and developing web 2.0 pages
• Expert on XHTML, XML, DOM
• JavaScript libraries, such as Yahoo, Dojo, etc.
• Agile development
• Experience with JSP, JSTL, servlets and Java
• Experience with ADA compliance (Section 508)
• Current hands-on development experience
• BS Computer Science and a MS is preferred
