Job Title: Lead Social Web Applications Developer
Description: A very very exciting Web2.0 start up about to launch its private beta, is seeking an intrepid, highly motivated web developer for an initial contract project helping build several new database-driven web applications. Our preference would be someone with experience in ASP, AJAX and/or Ruby on Rails development and / or PHP for consumer web services, as well as a strong knowledge of web standards and project deployment.
Responsibilities:
* Design, test, develop, and deploy consumer-facing web applications using a variety of programming platforms.
* Actively participate in product design and planning.
Requirements:
*At least two web applications that we can review in final form.*
* Three years' experience building web applications in a production environment
* 2 years' experience writing and maintaining code in an interpreted language such as ASP, Ruby, Perl, etc.
* Understanding of the server-side software, scalability, performance and reliability aspects related to web applications
* Strong front-end expertise and experience
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative and iterative business and engineering environment
* Experience developing applications on web application platforms such as Google App Engine, Facebook, or OpenSocial is a major plus
* Understanding of the product development lifecycle and/or agile software development
* B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
