Collient is an early-stage startup based in Sunnyvale, CA working on technology that will radically transform the way we watch video content.

Our founders are Stanford alums who have been innovating, building and bringing-to-market
successful software products in Silicon Valley for the last 15 years.

We are looking for a technology expert in digitial video technology, transcoding, video delivery over the Internet and automated editing.

The role involves hands-on software architecture, design and coding in a Linux environment. We expect to utilize and contribute to open source software in the digitial video space, and the ability to understand and integrate with disaparate software will be important.

Reporting to the CTO, this person will have the opportunity to help set the technology direction for the company and play a key role in defining the product offering.

This person needs to be able to work in a true startup environment where new ideas spring up often and are discussed openly and acted upon quickly. We also know how to have fun and we believe in a working environment that is comfortable and enjoyable that people are proud to be associated with.

Requirements:
MS degree in CS or EE - PhD preferred
4+ years of experience in digital media technology development - including any time spent in a high-quality research environment.
Expertise in Java, C/C++ programming
Experience and comfort working in the Linux environment
Experience with collaborative software development best practices
