PLC Engineer

Location: Palo Alto, CA
Compensation: DOE

Responsibilities:

-Develop complex machine controls for industrial equipments and factory automation, meeting stringent performance, safety and quality standards.
-Develop electrical wiring schematics, sub-assembly drawings, and bills of material for control system design.
-Generate test plans and conduct acceptance testing
-Provide or assist in the creation of technical descriptions of operation, equipment checkout procedures, technical reports, user manuals and other documentation as required.
-Work in conjunction with other groups as a team and effectively complete the projects according to plan.
-Significant travel to Ausra's factory locations is required, for field installation and training of factory personnel. Initial location is Las Vegas, NV.

Qualifications:

-Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
-At least 5 years experience with deploying factory-scale robotics systems as the lead programmer and systems architect.
-In depth knowledge of current electrical control technologies theory and methods, especially Allen Bradley PLC programming and communications.
-Trouble-shoot and repair controls on production equipment.
-Develop and maintain electrical schematics and engineering documentation such as I/O lists, Cause & Effect, Control Narratives and Functional Design Specifications.
-Knowledge of North American Safety Standards.
-Knowledge of the machine safety risk assessment process a plus.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background investigation (motor vehicle record, criminal, education and prior employment).
