Job Description:

The perfect candidate is recent graduate with an additional one to two years experience either as an intern or full time employee in a software development and testing environment. You’ll enjoy a position that allows you to grow professionally in a rapidly evolving environment while using your knowledge of QA best practice tools and methodologies. Individuals who possess the ability to execute automation test frameworks and automation tools in addition to the creation and maintenance of regression test frameworks are a great match for this growth opportunity!

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to work as a part of a team as well as on an individual level
  • View log files, debugging and recreating the issue, and understanding the problem
  • Create bug defects in bug tracking tool with complete information on the steps as well as log files. Follow up on the bug when it is fixed and resolve it in the tool
  • Performing assigned QA tasks to completion in an Agile Environment with two week sprints
  • Developing test plans, cases, scripts and tools
  • Perform system/load/benchmark/performance testing on core applications as well as web-based testing on a SaaS environment
  • Execute automation test frameworks and automation tools – report results
  • Assist in maintaining current regression framework as well as create new regression framework
  • Work with off-site development and QA team

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in the area of software testing and quality assurance (experience can be a combination of internships and full time work experience)
  • Minimum 1 year experience creating test frameworks for Web applications
  • Minimum 2 years experience using an OO programming language such as Java for automation purposes
  • Minimum 2 years experience using a scripting language (Perl or Javascript)
  • Hands-on experience designing and creating test documentation, test plans, test cases, defect reports
  • Some exposure to writing automated test scripts; including actual programming experience in addition to the recording capabilities of the automation software
  • Experience with defect tracking/build/source control tools an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL
  • Windows - Unix/Linux knowledge is required
  • Experience in load and stress testing of web applications helpful
  • Working knowledge of virtual machines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Excellent time management, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and technical skills required. The candidate must have the ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and to think beyond “outside of the box". Must have the ability to coordinate a wide range of assignments by managing dependencies, expectations and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
