Our service helps consumers find compelling products based on information shared by friends. Imagine a day when you could do a Google search on “digital cameras” and get back a list of the cameras your friends have purchased in the last five years.  That’s the problem we are solving!  Our business model is to utilize social content around products to drive sales for online retailers and receive a commission on the sales generated.  We already have a number of marquee customers and have recently raised VC funding from a great group of investors. 

We are looking for an engineer who can wear multiple hats, with primary emphasis on back-end development and technical operations.

Responsibilities

* Proactively work to improve our overall architecture, especially as relates to performance and scalability

* Identify, plan, prioritize, and execute operations projects

* Manage new service deployments and updates to production systems, and administrate development and QA environments

* Develop server side code for new features   

Desired skills

* Previous experience in a code architect, back-end developer, or operations role at a large traffic web site

* Deep and fundamental understanding of web architectures, web development and code optimization

* 3-5+ years of experience in a higher level language used for web development (Python preferred)

* 3-5+ years experience with Linux server set ups, Apache, MySQL, memcache and scaling with common open source tools 

Nice to have

* Experience with Facebook Connect or Facebook Platform APIs

* Experience with Python, Java

* DBA-level MySQL abilities, especially as relates to scalability concerns

* Open source project contributor
